CREATE A SYSTEM RESTORE IMAGE FIRST SO YOU CAN RESTORE THE REGISTRY SHOULD YOU RUN INTO ANY ISSUES. TURN OFF INTERNET. CLOSE ALL OPEN PROGRAMES. CLOSE ALL APPLICATIONS IN THE NOTIFICATION AREA (BOTTOM RIGHT,ICONS OF TASKBAR). TURN OFF ANTIVIRUS AND ALL REAL TIME PROTECTION. If you are running Windows Vista/7, click on the Start menu, choose All Programs, then Accessories, then right-click on the item named Command Prompt and choose Run as administrator. If you are running an OS other than Windows Vista, go to the Start menu, choose Run, type cmd and click OK. In the cmd prompt, type notepad reset.cmd and click yes to open Notepad.exe and create a new text file named reset.cmd (you will be asked to create new file). This tool will take several minutes/hours to run, and it requires that the user account you are using has administrator privileges on the system. This is why it is necessary to run it from an elevated cmd prompt on Windows Vista/7. Restart once the cmd window states finished/complete/done/flashing _ . oNCE RESTARTED YOU MAY FIND CERTAIN APPLICATIONS FAIL TO START (GENRALLY ANTIVIRUS) SHOULD THIS HAPPEN THEN RUN THE ALTERNATIVE SCRIPT THEN IF THAT HAS NOT SOLVED THE ISSUE (AFTER RESTART) GO TO THE UNINSTALL PROGRAMES OPTION IN THE CONTROL PANEL AND SELECT THE REPAIR/UNINSTALL THEN REPAIR OPTION FOR THE AFECTED APPLICATION(S).
